Welcome to one of the Connect Network's community list servs, an email communication list to be used as a community-building tool for nonprofit organizations, civic leaders, volunteers, anyone working to maintain a healthy and secure quality of life for all citizens in metro Richmond.
This list is for individuals and agencies involved with Colaborando Juntos, also known as CJ, an innovative network of government, nonprofit, faith, private and community volunteers who work with and for the Latino/Hispanic community and its wellbeing. CJ increases public awareness of critical issues by encouraging partnerships and leveraging resources.
CJ serves the Central Virginia region. Colaborando Juntos means working together.
CJ has as one of its short-term goals to “build effective communication among participants.” As a strategy in achieving this goal, this email list provides a forum for discussion of issues affecting the community, facilitates discussion in order to help the community and serves as a tool for sharing information about programs, funding, collaboration, research, conferences, jobs, and any information members think others might like to know about.
The Connect Network, and its marquee communications and capacity-building enterprise, Connect Richmond (www.connectrichmond.org) manages these lists for the good of the community. Some notes on "rules for the list"
--Attachments are prohibited: They are prone to viruses. If you have an important document to share, post a brief message and ask people to respond directly to you if they are interested in receiving it.
--Selling or advertising is prohibited. You may not advertise your services as a consultant or try to sell a service. You may include information about the cost of workshops or other events if the event is sponsored by or if the proceeds go to a nonprofit organization. You may use the list to publicize events of broad interest that are free and open to the public. You may volunteer your services.
--Please do not use the list to ask for donations. The Connect Network may occasionally issue its own fundraising appeal but it will be the only such voice on the list.
--Employment announcements are welcome. Jobs postings are for government and nonprofit jobs only, not jobs in the corporate sector unless that position is tied to a company’s outreach to the nonprofit sector, such as community relations manager or grants manager.
