Smart Beginnings Greater Richmond is a regional coalition dedicated to ensuring that all children, ages birth to five, are healthy, well-cared for, and ready to succeed in school and in life. The Smart Beginnings Greater Richmond Network brings together a broad array of public and private organizations to provide an avenue for shared learning, networking, and accountability for implementation of the Regional Plan for Children’s School Readiness. Members of the listserv belong to the Smart Beginnings Greater Richmond Network, and include child care providers, health providers, resource and referral agencies, county health departments, state and local social services, family service organizations, faith community, universities, museums, businesses, schools, and more. Membership is open to any organization or individual with a commitment to our region’s vision that all children, ages birth to five, are healthy, well-cared for, and ready to succeed in school and in life. The full coalition structure of Smart Beginnings Greater Richmond includes a Leadership Council, School Readiness Committee, Action Teams, and the larger Network. More information on our structure and other committees can be found on our website at www.readychildren.net. Throughout the year, Smart Beginnings Greater Richmond will support the Network through quarterly meetings and its listserv. The meetings are geared to provide a neutral venue for including the grassroots perspective and feedback of early childhood related programs and organizations to Smart Beginnings Greater Richmond. The listserv, sponsored by ConnectRichmond, helps the community share early childhood development information like research, policy announcements, grant announcements, meeting reminders and minutes, community activities, and queries from members. Subscribing to Grecdc
