An old track still used by trainers of harness horses
will disappear next year when a new $2 million transit
facility is built in Warsaw.
The track's end could come as early as next spring,
when site preparations for the new offices and garage
will likely begin, said Ken Pollock, manager of Bay
Transit. Pollock said Bay Transit hopes to open the
facility by the end of 2007.
But Pollock said the three horse trainers who have
used the track for many years can continue "until
out-site development requires us to tear it up."
The Bay Transit site will destroy the first turn of
the half-mile-long dirt track and render it useless
for training, the horsemen said.
