FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Come hear Mr. "A.L." Taylor talk about the famous and sometimes
controversial United States Supreme Court Case of 1803, Marbury vs. Madison,
at the historic APVA John Marshall House this Sunday, September 24th, at 3pm
in the educational room. Admission is free and the talk will be held in
conjunction with a host of activities at the house commemorating the Great
Chief Justice John Marshall's 251st Birthday. Hear the Ft. Lee Brass
Quintet play patriotic and popular songs and see a demonstration by the
Richmond City Fire Department honoring John Marshall's critical role in
forming the first Richmond City Fire Department.

information. The John Marshall House is located at 818 E. Marshall Street,
at the corner of 9th and Marshall in downtown Richmond.
A Biographical Sketch of Mr. Alvoston L.
Taylor, Jr.
Mr. Taylor was born in Richmond, Virginia. He is a graduate of the
Armstrong High School, Virginia Union University (B.A.), Virginia
Commonwealth University (M. ED), has engaged in doctoral studies at V P I &
S U, and done additional coursework at the University of Virginia.. For 35
years he was a teacher and administrator with the Richmond Public Schools,
having taught American History, African-American History, Government &
Economics and Sociology, and serving as Assistant Principal, Curriculum
Specialist, and Principal. Now retired, Mr. Taylor spends his time
traveling, doing Frederick Douglass portrayals and serving as a docent at
the John Marshall House.
