[Preservation] Franklin, VA to hold Preservation Event

May is National Historic Preservation month.? In honor of this the Franklin Historic District Neighborhood Association, in Franklin, VA, will be holding it's annual event.? The event will feature three guest speakers, Mr. David Herring with the Alliance to Conserve Old Richmond Neighborhoods, Ms. Jenny Cannon, Renovation Loan Specialist with Wells Fargo Mortgage, and Mr. Kurt Magette, PLC, who holds a generous amount of knowledge about tax law and?has a CPA background.? This program is designed not only to encourage preservation/conservation, but to educate about the financial resources/benefits available for the restoration of an older home vs. new construction.? Each speaker will speak about 45 minutes, will answer questions, and demonstrate success through powerpoint presentations.


The event will be held on May 3, at the Emmanual Episcopal Church, 400 North High Street, Franklin, 23851, at 11:00 AM.? A light lunch will be served for a donation of $3.00, and a raffle will be held for an original Lyons Movie Theater poster from 1945.? Each ticket will be sold for $1.00.? The Lyons Theater is a historic building located in downtown Franklinl.
