A new partnership with Richmond Magazine will further promote ways in which people can work with local nonprofits. Starting with the December issue and continuing in 2009, Richmond Magazine -- an award-winning full-color city magazine that reaches 40,000 households -- will publish a selection of Items Needed and Volunteer Opportunities you post to the Connect Web site that serves your community. www.connectnetwork.org To differentiate this list from others, Richmond Magazine would especially like to highlight needs for specific volunteer knowledge and expertise, such as marketing, finance, technology, to encourage citizens who might not be able to contribute goods or money to get involved with their community. Everyone has "gifts to share." Be specific, detailed and creative. Please be very specific in how you express your needs and wishes. Do you need a mechanic to check out the van you're trying to buy? Your brochure translated into Spanish? New children's books for resource center? Does your building need new furniture and fresh paint to make it more inviting and comfortable to meet your client's needs? Do you need a building? A training session for your staff? A speaker for your end-of-year banquet? A new piece of equipment? A marketing plan? Coats for kids? Enter as many needs as you like.
