There are two related attachments to this notice. Because this system does not take attachments, there will be two notices following this one.

As you all know, the third party notice bill did pass the General Assembly this last session and will go into effect July 1, 2006. A copy of the new law is attached for your convenience. Since the bill requires affirmative action by a tenant to request the landlord to send copies of notices to a third party, it is important that we get the word out to tenants so they are aware of the new law and know to select, if they choose, a third party to receive duplicate copies of notices from the landlord. I am attaching a brief article on the third party notice law. If your agency has a publication, listserv, website or other means of communication with clients, families or service providers, please consider including this article in your publications over the next several months. The article will also appear on Senior Navigator's website so you could refer people to that as well. Thank you for anything you can do to get the word out about this new provision so that our elderly and disabled clients can benefit from the new law. Please feel free to call me (782-9430) if you have any questions about the third party notice provision. Thanks for your interest and your help.
