  Nubian Village Academy & UNIA-ACL Presents The Meeting
   
   
  Nubian Village Academy and Cultural Center in conjunction with the Universal Negro Improvement Association and African Communities League's Prosser-Truth Division 456 presents the award winning play The Meeting.  
   
  The Meeting will be presented on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at the Richmond Police Training Academy, 1202 West Graham Road, Richmond, VA  23220.  The doors open at 5:30 and the play will start promptly at 6:00 p.m.

  The play takes the audience back to February 1965 when two great minds - Malcolm X and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. - meet in Harlem's historic Hotel Theresa to share their two roads to freedom. The one-act play is based on a fictionalized meeting between the two leaders and explores what might have happened had they met before their assassinations just three years apart.  
   
  The Meeting, a powerful drama about the lives, philosophies and times of these two leaders, is an emotional, clever and intense confrontation between Malcolm X, his hostile bodyguard and Martin Luther King.  It gives factual, but surprising information about the two men and their commitment to human rights and the times.
   
  Written by Jeff Stetson, The Meeting has received a Louis B. Mayer Award, eight NAACP Theatre Awards and six New York AUDELCO nominations. It has been produced throughout the United States and Europe.
